501 Main Street, Park City, UT 84060 435 645 0700
501 on Main was recommended by locals as having the largest vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free menu using seasonal and local produce in the state of Utah. I don’t normally venture up to Park City, but I had to give this place a try.
We started off with Fried Zucchini. What was interesting was that the Fried Zucchini were pickled!
Mr. Munchimunch ordered the 501 Pot Roast, slow roasted beef, braised for 14 hours with a hearty portion of mashed potatoes. He was hunkering for some heavy comfort food and this dish fit perfectly.
I ordered the Organic Fresh Risotto, organic mushrooms (shiitake, oyster, button), locally farmed yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, shallots, garlic touched with fresh chives and regional aged cheddar. The risotto was cooked all the way through with no hard lumps, but it wasn’t cooked for too long where it was mushy. The perfect consistency! Even though this was spicy for me, I quite enjoyed it. I even saved half of it for lunch the next day.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without dessert! I ordered the Gluten Free Brownie with a side of Vanilla ice cream. The brownie came out cubed, which was a bit strange to me, and warm which went well with the cold ice cream. A classic combination.
If you are ever up in Park City, I would suggest stopping by 501 on Main for lunch or dinner. The service was pleasant and the food portions were enormous. I may plan a day trip up to Park City after the holidays!
