Every so often, when I use to work in New Jersey, I would order a toasted bagel from the downstairs cafe of my building for breakfast. I’d either order a bagel with cream cheese or sometimes cream cheese and strawberry jam, but I would always order it toasted.
When I started working in Utah, I lost the opportunity to order a bagel whenever I wanted. I did buy a few from the grocery store, but they were different and didn’t quite have the same texture. In fact, I wasn’t sure where to even order a bagel similar to the ones from the east coast. Until Einstein Bros Bagels.
Mr. Munchimunch introduced me to Einstein Bros Bagels breakfast menu. He use to work for a company that would bring Einstein Bros Bagels in every so often until he got sick and tired of eating them. He mentioned that they were the best bagels he’s had.
I wanted to try their plain bagel or even their everything bagel, but by the time I arrived to the store, most of everything was already sold out and they were waiting for more to be made. So I opted for a pretzel bagel for the Ham & Swiss Egg Sandwich off their breakfast menu.
And it was delicious! They did not skimp out on any of the sandwich fixings and you might be able to see the cheese strings from the amount of melted Swiss cheese they had. While the pretzel bagel was a bit saltier than expected, it was easily remedied by rubbing some extra salt off the bagel.
The pretzel bagel was more pretzel than bagel, but I did order two dozen bagels to go for a long weekend away. Over that weekend, I had the chance to try a Plain bagel and a Cinnamon Sugar bagel. Both were the perfect amount of chewy on the inside and the slight crusty on the outside.
I’m so glad I’ve found the type of bagels I want in Utah! I can’t wait to return and try their other bagels and also their other sandwiches. Einstein Bros Bagels doesn’t just sell bagels, they also sell coffee and drinks, sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads, and desserts! I hope you find the chance to head over there yourself as well. ^_^
