After breakfast at Tropicana’s Beach Café, we walked up and down the strip at a leisurely pace.
You wouldn’t think it, but even with all the trips Mr. Munchimunch and I have taken to Las Vegas, I had never walked the full strip. We’re mostly off the strip on business or car related events. This time, we had a chance to enjoy the weather and the not yet drunk streets of Las Vegas Boulevard.
After walking through a few shops and being a total tourist, we headed back to the hotel to find respite from the rising heat and humidity…and ended up taking an afternoon nap! haha Sadly, I think it’ll be a while before we’ll get the chance to take afternoon naps again.
We awoke and decided to try out JINYA Ramen Bar, a recommend from our friend who introduced us to Monta: Japanese Noodle House.
Mr. Munchimunch ordered the Tonkotsu Spicy, pork broth, pork chashu, spicy bean sprouts, kikurage, green onion served with thick noodles. While the dish was spicy enough for him, he did not enjoy it much. He complained that the meat wasn’t as tender, the broth was on the greasier side, and there weren’t enough noodles as Monta.
I opted to try a JINYA specialty, the JINYA Tonkotsu Black, pork broth, pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, nori dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic chips, garlic oil, fried onion served with thin noodles. While I did enjoy the extra garlic, I also noticed the greasier broth and lower quality of noodles.
Regrettably, we did not enjoy JINYA Ramen Bar even though we were excited to try a new ramen joint for variety. We definitely prefer Monta over JINYA. So much that we stopped by Monta before we left Vegas for home!
